CLC News — Pastor Michael Gurath has declined the call issued by the CLC Board of Missions to serve a full-time foreign missionary to India and East Africa. 

Mission Helper Fund — Ashley Elliott has volunteered to serve as a CLC Mission Helper to East Africa in July. The congregation has set up a “Mission Helper Fund” to give members, family, and friends the opportunity to assist Ashley in raising the necessary funds for this opportunity to spread the Gospel. She will need approx. $3500 to cover such expenses as airfare, lodging, transportation, vaccinations, passport, travel visas, etc. If you would like to donate toward Ashley’s expenses, please make checks out to Faith Lutheran Church and clearly mark it as a donation to the Mission Helper Fund. She will need $2000 by early February.

The 2012 CLC Christian Women's Retreat — will be held in April 12-14, 2012 in Lacrosse, WI. Attendees will be encouraged with the words of 2 Chronicles 20:15b “this is what the Lord says to you: ‘do not be afraid or discouraged because of the vast army. For the battle is not yours, but God’s.’” Information and registration forms are on the counter in the vestibule.

Mid-Week Bible Study and Confirmation Class — will resume this week.

Mid-Week Lenten Services — will begin in a few weeks on Wednesday, February 29th. We will again be holding our services at the Garden View Care Center on Wednesday evening beginning at 7:00 pm. Please include this in your schedule as we spend just one extra hour a week during these weeks of Lent preparing our hearts to consider the great sacrifice that our Savior made for each of us as He suffered for our sins on the cross at Calvary. 

Prayers for Dave and Debbie Menton — Dave will be having surgery to remove a portion of his colon where a cancerous tumor has been found on Thursday (2/9). He will be in the hospital for a few days following the surgery. The surgery will take place at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital Edgewood, 1 Medical Village Dr., Edgewood, KY 41017
